Workplace Trainer and Assessor, Busselton, 3 days per week
JSW Training & Community Services is a vibrant, multiple award winning RTO based in the South West region of WA. We provide a broad range of innovative training and education opportunities to a diverse clientele.
Our team is currently seeking a suitably qualified Workplace Trainer and Assessor to service our growing Busselton region delivering competency based training in the Business, Hospitality and Retail sectors.
Above all, we are looking for a person who is confident, energetic and dedicated; whose training style will reflect their passion for training in the workplace and the classroom.
Main responsibilities
- Facilitating and assessing training for government funded apprenticeship programs
- Contribute to continuous improvement in course curriculum and RTO processes
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of all training resources
- Develop and maintain training documentation to meet AQTF and Training plan requirements
To apply for the role you are required to demonstrate the required licenses/qualifications:
- Current Driver’s License
- Federal or State Police Clearance and Western Australian Working with Children Clearance
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40110
- One or more qualifications and industry experience in Business, Retail and Hospitality
Candidates possessing the following skills and attributes are encouraged to apply:
- Excellent communication, computer and interpersonal skills
- Vocational competencies in Business, Retail and Hospitality environments
- Demonstrated broad-based experience in the delivery of training and assessment in the VET sector
- Ability to work co-operatively and effectively in a team environment
- Strong project management skills with the ability to work autonomously
- Well-developed analytical and time management skills
- Experience in a similar role with current training qualifications
- Current drivers licence

Participants enrolling in this course will complete a Certificate II in Community Services (CHC20112) with the possibility of also gaining Certificate III*#
This is a great time to enrol in this part time program and launch your career in the Community Services industry.
JSW Training & Community Services is offering you a first step into this diverse industry with very strong local job prospects. Our training program will introduce you to working in Community Services and give you a ‘taste’ of the many different careers in this field.
*Particpants who have already completed a Certificate II in Community Services are able to enrol into Certificate III in Community Services (CHC20112)
Where can a certificate in Community Services take you?
JSW will work closely with you and local Community Service organisations to give you the best possible chance of stepping confidently into a career in; Aged Care, Disabilities Services , Child Care, Youth or Social Work, Mental Health Services.
Once you finish this course you can:
Work towards a Traineeship, find work more easily and confidently or enrol for further study at other registered training organisations
What do you need to be able to do this course?
You will need to;
- Use a computer to write and store simple documents
- Use email to contact your Trainer outside class time
- Read and take notes from written handouts and talks
- Work in small groups with other students

Our program offers women guidance and support adjusting to family, community life and employment in the Australian community.
Students will develop and enhance their:
- communication skills
- computing and technology skills
- maths, reading and writing skills for everyday living and employment
- confidence to explore & enter the workforce or other education
- awareness of different services available in the community
- self esteem and confidence.
When you finish this course you will:
- gain new friends and networks
- be supported to explore further study options
- get assistance in applying for employment opportunities.
* This program is aimed at women who speak English as a second language. A $20 course fee and selection process applies.

10 week training program running Monday's in Bunbury

- Recognising plants in the bush & seed collection

To participate in this program you must be 16 years or older. Participation in this program may lead to employment, a traineeship or further training in the field of horticulture.

- Undertake Nationally Accredited Training in a Certificate I in Leadership Development 52183 course

Who can apply for one of only 15 places in this program?
Anyone aged 18 to 25 who is currently unemployed and not already doing a similar program.

‘Pad up’
for mobile learning with JSW
JSW Training & Community Services is offering 10 places in our exciting new iPad based training program called ‘Remotely Possible’.
This FREE program is designed for people aged 16 – 25 who are keen to;
- reconnect to study and training but have difficulty joining a face to face training program
- use mobile technology like iPads to learn new things
- find out about the wide range of training options available at JSW
‘Remotely Possible’ will run from March to June and deliver 5 units from Certificates II or III of General Education for Adults (CGEA). You will explore career pathways that interest you and complete basic first aid and workplace health and safety training.
You and the Program Trainer will decide which level of Certificate (II or III) suits you best. You will also be able to complete your Certificate of General Education as an external JSW student once this program is finished.
To be eligible for this program you will need to;
- attend a face to face (or Skype) selection interview with the Program Trainer
- agree to working from a Community Resource Centre, library or other community based organisation with wireless Internet access and secure storage for your iPad
- have someone who can support your learning if you and the Program Trainer agree that this is what you need for success

The WA Training Awards highlighted the outstanding individuals and organisations from the Western Australian training sector with a much anticipated awards ceremony attended by 700 people on 14th September.
That was the night JSW Training & Community Services won WA Training Initiative 2012.
Winning Weekend for JSW

JSW won the Training Initiative Award in the WA Training Awards. The awards showcase the State’s vocational high achievers across 14 individual and organisation categories.
CEO Posy Barnes said 'This award goes to the core of the work that we do. One of our strategic priorities is innovation and winning this prestigious award recognises the innovative and technologically advanced work that we do".
The award recognises the flexible CGEA program that JSW runs across the State. This accredited program is customised specifically for young people at risk and has been the catalyst for many to re-engage in education and training, employment and their communities.
